The 2019 U.S Women’s open has just wrapped up at the historic Country Club of Charleston.
The winner, Jeeoung Lee6 put up a very impressive performance and took home the gold with a -6 winning score. The course proved to be difficult but fair for the worlds best women golfers. If watching the play of these amazing women have inspired you to get out and challenge yourself, you’re in the right place. Charleston is full of affordable yet challenging courses that will help you sharpen your game. Here is a list of great courses to play that have top-notch practice facilities to help you hit it like a pro!
Patriots Point Golf Links- Most locals know Patriots for its scenic last 3 holes located on the Harbor but the public course has so much more to offer. The driving range has plenty of room for all guests to spread out and fine tune their mechanics. It also has stadium lights that stay on until 9:30 P.M, which is very helpful for busy work schedules. Located directly off the range is a practice wedge area that stretches about 75-yards wide. Additionally, there is a practice chipping green and a putting green overlooking downtown. These amenities make Patriots Point one of the best places to practice in the entire city.
Rivertowne Golf Club- If you can get out to Rivertowne Golf Club with a member you will not be disappointed. Home to one of the best driving ranges in Charleston, Rivertowne is quick to impress. The range has over 10 targets and makeshift greens for you to aim at. Located at the back of the range is another awesome short game facility. With two bunkers and a putting green this is the perfect place for any golfer to perfect their game.
Charleston National- Although a little out of the way, Charleston National is a great place to get out and sharpen your skills. You can drive directly to the range located in the back of the property and grab a bucket of balls. The range has targets for golfers to aim at for accuracy improvement. If you head back towards the clubhouse you will find a putting/chipping green located next to the first tee. This gives customers the chance to gain some confidence on the greens before heading out to play. With very reasonable rates and a good layout Charleston National is a popular spot for residents looking to get out and enjoy the sunshine.
